Being a local our Managing Director Andrew Boord is committed to supporting the area’s products, services and human resources. Andrew also believes that even when working further afield, prioritising the use of the site’s local workforce is important. Our culture is focused on nurturing a network of mutually beneficial relationships between the company, its employees, clients and the community.

We love where we live – pinpointed to Dunsborough and the South West WA but more broadly, regional Western Australia; we will always do our best to minimise our environmental impact in all our activities, wherever we are working. We are well versed in sustainability principles and energy efficiencies such as thermal properties and associated cost reductions.

Providing a safe and healthy workplace is the absolute minimum expectation for any organisation. At Boorcon, we care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of all our employees and subcontractors, as well as the broader community. Having operated for more than 20 years in the construction industry, including across hazardous and high-risk specialities, we have the experience and training needed to identify, anticipate and mitigate the potential for incidents to occur. No deadline or request is as important as being able to return home to our families after a hard day’s work. We diligently adhere to and stay fully abreast of the national code of construction, including all building Acts and legislative amendments.

About Andrew Boord
Boorcon is led by Managing Director, Andrew Boord, a born-and-bred Kalgoorlie family man. A second-generation carpenter, Andrew is fiercely proud of his origins and his trade. Having worked overseas and extensively throughout Western Australia, he brings decades of diverse experience and expertise in the construction industry to Boorcon Pty Ltd. Focusing on residential, commercial, civil & mining construction. Andrew lives and breathes daily what he has learned and mastered over his own career.
Andrew completed his entire education in Kalgoorlie and finished his carpentry apprenticeship before moving to Perth to work in the building industry on numerous commercial and residential projects. He went on to work in remote Aboriginal communities in Broome and Derby where he gained a deep understanding of and appreciation for indigenous culture and sensitivities. He then spent 18 months on the huge Bunker Bay Resort development in South Western Australia. Upon its completion, Andrew was employed on the Esperance Ports civil construction project.
Next, Andrew flew to Canada and spent four years as a project supervisor in construction in the ski mountains. Working as a project supervisor in British Columbia, he learned a great deal about how extreme temperatures and snow demand vastly different building methods.
Upon his return home to W.A., Andrew worked on various projects for a local company specialising in residential, civil and mining construction services throughout regional Western Australia.
In recent years, Andrew and his wife April established Boorcon Pty Ltd to deliver high quality construction services in the residential, commercial, civil, & mining sectors.
Being based at home in Dunsborough affords Andrew the opportunity to remain involved with his beloved community and contribute meaningfully to its prosperity and growth. An avid advocate of the City Council CEO’s “buy local” campaign, he is committed to also employing locally and aims to always utilise trades, labour and professionals from within Dunsborough, Busselton & the South West WA or nearby, for Boorcon projects.
Andrew and his family look forward to contributing to Dunsborough’s continued growth and leaving a lasting legacy in the form of quality, well-constructed buildings and infrastructure.
